Here is an ancient pillar serving as underwater lighthouse.
Designed to be used as a landmark.
To create a lighthouse in a retro-futuristic style, I worked on a balanced contrast between rudimentary architecture and futuristic technology. Then I integrated movement and VFX to add dynamism to the main structure. To create a coherent architectural family, I also designed a light pillar and two light balls.
Sculpt in Zbrush, retopology and UVs in Maya, texturing in Substance Painter.
Workflow applied to each props. Assembled and rendered in Unreal Engine.
I was mainly inspired by Ali Eser’s work for his Parrunian Village and Ethan Scheu’s work for the game Destiny 2.
