On this asset, I tried to have a perfect balance between optimization and realistic rendering. The challenge was to have, after baking, a minimal mesh weight, while keeping a shape as detailed as possible.
As usual, I adjusted the mesh of my low poly several times, until to have the most suitable result.
And I know the stingrays move near the sand, so it's extremely rare to see them from below. I therefore removed all of the bottom part of my final low poly !
The final low poly asset is composed of 997 Tris complete with 1024 texture size maps.
I was inspired by a many round stingrays, which are a very varied and beautiful species !
Overall, I am really satisfied with the final result and I really enjoyed creating this asset. I really hope you like it too !
